2021 Buick Encore

There are only two different trim levels available to drivers of the 2021 Buick Encore. The base trim level is named the Base, while the higher trim level is named the Preferred. Drivers who opt for the Base trim level will find 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels which are significantly lighter than steel wheels. This trim level also features a two-tone paint scheme that is more visually interesting than a single color scheme. Metal-look bumper inserts, a chrome grille, chrome door handles, and chrome exhaust tips round out the exterior appearance of the Base trim.
The Preferred trim matches the Base trim in terms of exterior features. It does include more interior and tech features than the Base trim. Both trims on the 2021 Buick Encore are equipped with LED daytime running lights.

There are two engine configurations available on the 2021 Buick Encore. Both trims are equipped with the same standard engine, a turbocharged four-cylinder that has an output of 155 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The second engine is optional on both trims and doesn't include a turbocharger, giving it a lower output of 138 horsepower.

While the engine is relatively small compared to other SUVs, the 2021 Buick Encore boasts some impressive performance features. Both the Base and Preferred trims are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with an auto/manual feature. This allows drivers to manually choose gears or let the automatic transmission do the shifting. Unlike a traditional manual transmission, vehicles with an auto/manual don't have a clutch, and the driver can shift by use paddles on the steering wheel.
Other impressive performance features on the 2021 Encore include gas-pressurized shocks and rear coil springs that provide a smoother ride on bumpy roads. The front and rear suspensions are independent of each other. The Base trim features front-wheel drive while the Preferred trim includes options for both front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The cabin of the 2021 Buick Encore can be described as modern and luxurious. In addition to a sleek and responsive touch-screen display, the cabin is equipped with a combination of premium cloth and leatherette. Active noise cancellation, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and interior lighting are standard on both Encore trims.
